Prof Oluwayemi Olanike Onawumi Teaching and Research

Prof Oluwayemi Olanike Esther Onawumi is a professor of inorganic / Analytical Chemistry at Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology {LAUTECH), Ogbomoso Nigeria. She has supervised more than 200 undergraduate students and more than ten postgraduate students. She was a recipient of TWOWS (now OWSDW) and TWAS fellowships in 2005 and 2010 respectively which she utilized at University of Hyderabad,  and at Central Salt and Marine Chemical Research Institutes Gujarat, India, respectively. Her research work was on Synthesis and Characterization of Some Mixed Ligand Complexes and their use as Analytical/ antimicrobial Reagents. Her present research areas are on Analysis of Chemical constituents of some Plants, and purification of used oil with agro waste. she is a Fellow of Chemical Society of Nigeria, Fellow of Institute of Chartered Chemist of Nigeria, regular member of American Chemical Society, Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World and member of Institutes of Public Analysts
