Dr. Olja Simoska recently started her independent research career as an Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of South Carolina in August 2022. Previously, she was the 13th ACS Irving S. Sigal Postdoctoral Fellow, working in the research group of Professor Shelley D. Minteer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Utah. She received her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019, working under the mentorship of Professor Keith J. Stevenson. Olja has expertise in the development and application of electrochemical sensors for monitoring human health, as well as in the design of redox mediating systems to facilitate electron transfer in bacteria.
