My name is Neha Rani. I grew up in Himachal Pradesh, a northern state located at the foothills of Himalaya, in India. I graduated from DAV Senior Secondary school with a science major and a state rank of 47. I was selected as a DST INSPIRE Scholar by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, to pursue higher studies. I completed my bachelor's from Himachal Pradesh University in 2015 and Master of Science with Chemistry major from Lovely Professional University in 2017. During my masters, I worked on the synthesis of nanomaterials and study of their gas sensing properties. After my master's, I have joined Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu as a DST INSPIRE PhD student. My area of research is computational and theoretical chemistry. I am interested in designing realistic computational models of complex chemical reactions, e.g. photocatalytic water-splitting for generation of the renewable fuel and metal-catalyzed carbocyclization for discovery of new pharmaceutical drugs.
