Muhammad Rabnawaz, Ph.D., holds a tenured associate professor position in the School of Packaging as well as an adjunct professor position in the Department of Chemistry at MSU. He has over 10 years of experience in polymer synthesis and materials development. He has published over 70 research articles and holds more than 38 filed/issued US patent applications, including 10 optioned/licensed patents. Dr. Rabnawaz has received multiple awards, including the 2021 MSU Innovator of the Year, 2021 NSF CAREER Award, and elected Senior Member of National Academy of Inventors 2023. Dr. Rabnawaz is also co-founder of two companies related to his MSU technologies. He teaches multiple courses including Packaging with Plastics, an undergraduate-level course; Advanced Polymer Synthesis; and Packaging Materials Stability and Recycling, a graduate-level course. He is author of books such as "Plastics Packaging" 4thedition and Sustainable Packaging Materials: Winning Solutions.
