Catalysis plays a central role in the movement towards more efficient, sustainable, and economical production of chemical products and mediums for energy storage. An array of work has been done in the field involving method development and mechanistic inquiry in both heterogenous and homogenous catalytic processes. This symposium highlights undergraduates contributions to catalysis by inviting undergraduates at all institutions to present their work on their electrocatalytic, photocatalytic, and chemical catalytic studies. Topics include but are not limited to: 1) Electrocatalytic and photocatalytic conversion and methodology: abundant materials to commodity chemicals 2) Chemical catalysis for synthesis 3) Development/utilization of organic and transition-metal catalysis 4) Fundamental insights into catalytic mechanisms
