Dr. Matthias A. Blatnik

Junior Researcher, CEITEC, Brno University of Technology

Matthias did his PhD in Physics at the University of Graz, Austria, in the surface science group of Martin Sterrer about chemical and vibrational properties of ultrathin tungsten oxide films on noble metal surfaces. He then went on to the TU Wien in Vienna, Austria, to work in the group of Ulrike Diebold as a PostDoc researcher together with Margareta Wagner focusing on the interaction of water (and other small molecules) as well as phthalocyanines on the Indium oxide (111) surface. He is currently working at the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) at the University of Technology Brno within the group of Jan Cechal as a junior researcher investigating the deposition, self-assembly, and tailoring of molecular layers on specific oxide and metal surfaces as well as continuing a collaboration studying molecules on Indium oxide (111) with the people of the TU Wien.
