I am currently a postdoctoral researcher working in the field of polysaccharides and nanomaterials thereof as part of Assoc. Prof. Emily Cranston's group in the Faculty of Forestry. My expertise lies in the analysis of systems containing these materials with a particular focus on their photoluminescent properties. My fellowship focuses on the interaction of small molecules and oligosaccharides with cellulose nanocrystals in partnership with BC Research.
Recent publications have demonstrated the use of confocal spectroscopy to track cellulose dispersion in polymer composites and determine critical concentrations in gels.
