Dr. Madeline Vara Ph.D.

Dr. Madeline Vara received her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2018 with Prof. Younan Xia where she studied shape-controlled synthesis of noble metal nanocrystals for catalysis, and atomic resolution in situ microscopy. She is currently a Senior Scientist at Clear Scientific, Inc, in Cambridge, MA, a start-up dedicated to developing life-saving products for both clinical and defense applications. Her research interests span the areas of detection, decontamination, and therapeutics. Dr. Vara enjoys spending her free time painting, writing, and learning Krav Maga.
