The elucidation of kinetic and mechanistic information over catalytic surfaces is paramount to the development of new and more efficient catalysts. A wide range of experimental and theoretical tools are now available to kinetically characterize catalytic systems both in-situ and ex-situ. This symposium will provide a platform for sharing insights into how best to measure and utilize kinetic and mechanistic information across all aspects of heterogenous catalysis. Topics include but are not limited to: 1) Kinetic modelling of catalytic reactions 2) Fundamental insights into catalytic mechanisms and kinetics 3) Spectroscopic characterization of active surfaces 4) Experimental measurements of reaction rates/mechanisms 5) Determination of reaction mechanisms/rates using DFT
