Kelly S Meyer
Graduate Student, University of California, Davis
Kelly Meyer is a Ph.D. student in the Chemistry Department at UC Davis studying astrochemistry. She uses pure rotational spectroscopy in combination with ab initio quantum chemical methods to measure the precise molecular structure of gas-phase radicals that are potential reaction intermediates in the formation of prebiotic molecules in the low temperature regions of space. Before changing careers to pursue chemistry, she graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. degree in Cinema. She worked in a post-production audio studio working on television shows from the networks HBO, MTV, FX, and many more. As she is earning her graduate degree, she intends to combine her skills in cinema, television, and multimedia to increase the scientific literacy of the general public.
