Kelly L. Damm-Ganamet is a Senior Scientist in the Computational Chemistry group at Janssen Research & Development. She earned her B.S.E. in Materials Science and Engineering and M.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2002 and her Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan in 2007 under the supervision of Prof. Heather Carlson. In her thesis work, she developed methodology for incorporating protein flexibility in structure-based drug discovery.
While in graduate school, Kelly interned in the Computational Chemistry group at Pfizer (Ann Arbor, MI). Over the past 10 years she has taught a Drug Discovery course as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, and she was an invited Guest Editor for the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry Special Issue "Women in Medicinal Chemistry," published in March 2020. She has contributed to 18 peer-reviewed journal articles/book chapters and is co-inventor on six issued patents.
