Kathleen Lugo

My name is Kathleen Lugo Charriez, I was born and raised in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico where I started my career as a chemist at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras (UPR-RP) campus. In 2016 I transferred to Florida International University (FIU) where I finished my BS. in Chemistry in 2019. During my time at FIU, I had the opportunity to become an ACS Scholar, participate of two REU internships, serve as FIU Biscayne Bay chapter president, attend multiple conferences to present my research and publish my first 1st author and co-authored papers. I started my PhD in 2020 at the University of Central Florida (UCF) where I will be starting my 4th year as a PhD candidate.
