Session: Undergraduate Research at the Frontiers of Inorganic Chemistry:

The Interactive Online Network of Inorganic Chemists (IONiC) has a mission to improve teaching and learning in Inorganic Chemistry, focusing on both content and community. At the core of content offerings is the Virtual Inorganic Pedagogical Electronic Resource (VIPEr) website (http://www.ionicviper.org). With over 1550 registered faculty worldwide, VIPEr is a thriving community of practice for committed educators in the field of Inorganic Chemistry. Over 1100 high quality learning objects (LOs), including laboratory experiments, in class activities, literature discussions and more, promote best practices in chemical pedagogy and connect current research in inorganic chemistry with the classroom. Our community continues to grow through faculty development workshops, curricular development projects, webinars on topics of interest in inorganic chemistry pedagogy, and community interaction through several social media and communication platforms. Here we describe both the VIPEr website resources and various opportunities for involvement in the IONiC community, including upcoming workshops and discussions.
