Katherine Chaves Carballo

Born and raised in Costa Rica, I'm a 33 year-old, divorced female that enjoys sports, reading, and been in contact with nature. Less than a year ago, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

I work as lecturer and researcher at the School of Chemistry of the University of Costa Rica and I've been working there for 10 years.

The research field I'm working is related to the following topics: mechanochemistry, organic synthesis, natural products, antimicrobial activity, and phytopathogens. The Chem Ed research is relatively new for me, given the affronted challenges on the field during the COVID-19 pandemic era.
