Karolis has graduated from Kaunas University of Technology in 2017,
gaining a bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry. His research as a
Ph.D. student in the Senge Group is in the utilization of nonplanar
porphyrins for sensing, colorimetry and crystal engineering, and
investigating atropisomerism in supramolecular chemistry. Karolis is a
contributor to the EU-wide H2020 FET-Open project "INITIO", which aims
to detect and remove chiral pollutants; his postgraduate program is
supported by funding from the Irish Research Council.
