Dr Karen J Breese

Karen Breese is a synthetic organic chemist working on the development of herbicides with new modes of action with Associate Professor Keith Stubbs at the University of Western Australia. She completed her PhD at ANU with Associate Professor Russell Barrow working on hybrid antimalarials to overcome the issue of chloroquine resistance. Subsequently she moved to an industry position at Epichem as a medicinal chemist working on projects in drug discovery for neglected diseases and custom synthesis before joining UWA in 2020.
