Kaitlyn Crawford

Dr. Crawford joined the University of Central Florida (UCF) as an Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, and Biionix member as part of UCF's Faculty Cluster Initiative in fall 2017 with courtesy appointments in the Department of Chemistry and the Nano Science and Technology Center at UCF. The Crawford Lab focuses on development of functional polymer materials for sensing applications.
Dr. Crawford completed a postdoc with joint affiliation at Northwestern and UIUC's Department of Materials Science and Engineering. She finished her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2015, M.S. in Chemistry from NC State in 2011, and B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2009. Dr. Crawford is a contributing author on more than 15 peer-reviewed articles and has received at least 12 awards highlighting excellence in research and teaching.
