I am a Materials Science and Engineering graduate student at Texas A&M University, College Station with a background in Polymer Sci Engg and Tech from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India.
An innovative material scientist with 8 years of academic & industry research experience in polymer & nano-materials synthesis. Has in-depth knowledge about physical & chemical properties of materials along with hands-on experience of working in a cleanroom environment for the fabrication of microelectronics devices, new materials development, & materials characterization technique.
I am currently working in the area of Inorganic materials, mainly on MXene under Dr. Micah Green, Professor of Chemical Engineering Department at Texas A&M University. MXenes are a new family of two-dimensional (2D) transition metal carbides, carbonitrides, and nitrides that were discovered. I work on the synthesis of MXene by etching (HF etching and Salt etching). I perform the investigation of MXene synthesis by exploring the structure and surface termination of MXenes in order to define their chemical formulas and control chemical composition and also by studying the intercalation process, understanding the involved mechanisms and the structure of intercalated MXenes. These materials could be used for a wide range of applications including electronic devices, sensors, reinforcement for composites, and energy storage materials.
