Julie Korak

Dr. Julie Korak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Korak is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado and holds degrees in Chemical (B.S.), Environmental (B.S.), and Civil/Environmental Engineering (M.S. and Ph.D.) from the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Korak primarily focuses on the removal of inorganic contaminants, corrosion in water treatment systems, and organic matter characterization using optical properties. Her projects span from fundamental bench-scale studies to simulation modeling and full-scale treatment system assessments. Prior to joining the University of Colorado in 2018, she worked as a research and design engineer in the Water Treatment Group at the Bureau of Reclamation.
