Dr. Juliana Ladeira Vidal

Ph.D. Candidate, McGill University

Juliana Vidal is a Postdoctoral Researcher at McGill University in Canada, and under the supervision of Prof. Audrey Moores she is working to preserve nature and communities through the valorization of marine waste from the processing of crab, lobster, and shrimp. She previously completed her B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. at Federal University of Juiz de Fora in Brazil, and her Ph.D. at Memorial University of Newfoundland, in Canada. Today, Juliana is the Postgraduate Student Liaison of Beyond Benign, a non-profit organization dedicated to Green Chemistry Education, and a member of the Chemicals and Waste Platform of the United Nations Environment Programme Major Group for Children and Youth (UNEP MGCY). She is also involved with the Global Conversation of Sustainability, a project created by IUPAC and the International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN), and has been selected a Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) Future Leader in 2020.
