John Macor is a 35-year veteran in drug discovery. He is a co-inventor of two marketed drugs: Relpax(R) and Nurtec(R) ODT, both for the treatment of migraine, but with different mechanisms. He also a co-inventor of an additional six compounds presently in clinical trials, two of which have had their NDAs accepted for review by the FDA. John has been awarded the 2009 Scarborough Award, the 2014 Alfred Burger Award in Medicinal Chemistry, the 2019 Smissman Award, and the 2020 IUPAC-Richter Prize in Medicinal Chemistry. John was a 2011 ACS Fellow, Chaired the MEDI Division in 2015 and was an 2014 inductee in the MEDI Hall of Fame.  John has authored/co-authored over 200 publications, is an inventor on more than 130 issued US patents and has given more than 100 invited lectures.  He has Chaired two Gordon Conferences: Heterocyclic Compounds (2006) and Medicinal Chemistry (2002).  John received a BS from the University of Notre Dame and a PhD from Princeton University, both in chemistry.
