Division/Committee: [HIST] Division of the History of Chemistry

The Division of the History of Chemistry (HIST) seeks to advance knowledge and appreciation of the history of the chemical sciences. The Energy and Fuels Division (ENFL) aims to Drive a sustainable and equitable energy future. The two divisions will collaborate to recognize the professionals who have demonstrated long-standing evidence-based best practices to advance science and technology. This symposium encourages submissions of a broad spectrum of topics on history, policy, roadmap technology and deployment of sustainable and equitable energy. The proposed symposium features achievements on research, development, and application of energy and fuels from various resources. This includes unique techniques, novel partnerships, and breakthrough methodologies enabling the next generation of technologies on energy and fuels. Through reflection of history, we aim to strengthen connections between people from different backgrounds and broaden participation of scholars. Topics include, but are not limited to: -History of the ACS Energy and Fuels Division; -History of scientific and technological breakthroughs; -History and policies of energy; -Petroleum research funds to strengthen fundamental research; -Roadmap of energy; -Technical and societal impact of energy and fuels; -An alternative pathway to reduce energy consumption; -The novel design of energy system to improve conversion efficiency.
