Dr. Jin Xiong's research interests focused on the correlation among molecular structure, electronic structure, and physical or chemical properties. He completed a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Beijing Normal University in 2013. Then he obtained his Ph.D. degree in inorganic chemistry from Peking University in 2018, where he worked with Professor Song Gao on Lanthanide single-molecule magnets, especially the magneto-structural correlation. After that, he joined Guo Lab as a postdoctoral research fellow at Carnegie Mellon University. His current project is using spectroscopic methods, like Mössbauer and EPR, to study Fe-containing metalloenzymes as well as biomimetic synthetic model complexes, particularly ones relevant to the global nitrogen and carbon cycles.
