Dr. Jessica Koehne Ph.D.

Jessica Koehne is a Research Scientist in the Microfluidics and Instrumentation Branch at NASA Ames Research Center.  She received her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of California at Davis in 2009.  Dr. Koehne has spent the past 20 years developing nanomaterial-based sensor platforms for the detection of a variety of biomolecules with applications ranging from point-of-care for astronaut health monitoring to the detection of life signature for planetary exploration.  Dr. Koehne has significant experience in device fabrication, nanomaterial integration, electrochemical characterization and sensor validation.  She has received numerous honors and awards including the 2011 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) and the 2018 Women in Aerospace Achievement Award.  Dr. Koehne currently serves as Chair of the Sensors Division of the Electrochemical Society.
