Dr Jens Pistorius
Director and Professor Head of Institute, Institute for Bee Protection, JKI
Dr. Jens Pistorius works at the JKI since 2007 and has worked on risk assessment on bees as well as bee poisoning incidents, research on testing methodology, side effects of PPP and agroecology both for honey bees and wild bees. Privately, he keeps bees -approximately 40 colonies- since 2003 up to today. His work group grew constantly, and he was appointed the head of the Institute for Bee Protection, which was officially founded in 2016.The Institute for Bee Protection in the JKI employs 40 staff members, including 17 scientists. Jens Pistorius is currently the head of the Institute for Bee Protection in the JKI.
