Jeffrey Jian

Jeffrey was born in China and grew up in Toronto, Canada. He graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He completed his undergraduate senior thesis in the laboratory of Dr. Kenneth Simpson, Ph. D. After graduation, Jeffrey worked in the lab of Dr. Saud Sadiq, M. D., at the Tisch Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York. He is currently a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University in the lab of Dr. Neil Osheroff, Ph. D. Jeffrey's thesis research seeks to understand the effects of DNA topology on the stability of type II topoisomerase-mediated cleavage complexes. Outside of lab, Jeffrey is currently learning computer programming and also enjoys indie movies.
