Dr. Jeffery M Tharp

Jeffery M. Tharp obtained a BS in chemistry from Indiana State University in 2012. He earned his PhD in chemistry from Texas A&M University in 2018 where he worked in the laboratory of Professor Wenshe Liu. Jeffery's PhD work coupled genetic code expansion and phage display to produce phage-displayed peptide libraries featuring diverse unnatural amino acids. From these libraries potent inhibitors of various epigenetic regulators were identified. In 2018 he joined the laboratory of Professor Dieter Söll at Yale University where he is engineering translational components to genetically encode non-α-amino acids.
