Dr. Javier Rojo

Dr. Rojo was graduated in Chemistry (1989), MSc (1990) and PhD in Chemistry (1995) from the Autonoma University of Madrid. He was a postdoc in the groups of Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn (1995-1998, University of Strasbourg, France) and Prof Larry McLaughlin (1998-1999, Boston College, USA). In 2000 he joined the Institute of Chemical Research of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) as Associate Researcher. In 2004 he got a permanent possition as Tenure Scientist and promoted to Senior Research Scientist (2011) and to Research Professor (2022). From April 2012 to November 2017, he was the National Coordinator of Science and Chemical Technologies Area of the CSIC and the Director of the cicCartuja CenterĀ  from February 2018 to July 2022.

He has published around 100 papers (>5000 citations and an H index of 37). His research interest is focused on Carbohydrate multivalent systems for biological applications and more recently in peptide-adjuvant conjugates to modulate the immune response.
