Jason Rakos received his bachelor's in chemistry from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he started doing undergraduate research studying environmental remediation and eventually preliminary work for molten salt electrochemistry. He continued his education by pursing a PhD in Radiochemistry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas under Dr. Cory Rusinek. His doctoral research consists of studying fundamental redox couples in various molten chloride salts, in addition to environmental detection and sequestering of pertechnetate via biochars or electrochemistry. When Jason finishes his studies, he plans to pursue either a national lab or academic career.
