Dr Jason Christopher Cole
Senior Research Fellow, Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre
I'm a long time employee at the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC). I attained my PhD in Crystallography in 1995 and joined the CCDC as a junior software developer. In my career I have progressed through various development, research and managment positions and was for 4 years the deputy director of CCDC before taking a decision to head back to a research focussed role. I have worked on a variety of research & development projects at CCDC. (GOLD docking, data mining using CSD-CrossMiner, data-driven molecular conformer generation and research into crystal structure prediction and the application of the Cambridge Structural Database in CSP search algorithms to mention a few.)
I still take a keen interest in the organisation's research directions, working with the Head of Science and science teams in developing science strategy moving forwards, but also get my hands dirty in continuing to carry out research projects with collaborators worldwide.
