Irina Hashmi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology at George Mason University. Her research incorporates techniques from machine learning, data mining, evolutionary computation and stochastic optimization in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics.
Dr. Hashmi earned her M.S and Ph.D. in Computer Science from George Mason University and B.S in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She worked as a visiting fellow at Computational Biology Branch at the National Institutes of Health
