Igor Sokolov

Igor Sokolov is a PhD student at IBM Research Europe in Zurich, working on the development of new quantum algorithms for optimisation and quantum chemistry simulations.

Igor received his BSc in Physics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). He continued his studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ) to obtain his MSc in Theoretical Physics. He wrote his Master's thesis on "Quantum algorithms for electronic structure calculations" supervised by Prof. Manfred Sigrist at ETHZ and Dr. Ivano Tavernelli at IBM.
