Heidi Klem is beginning her 5th and final year of PhD studies at Colorado State University and is jointly advised by Prof. Rob Paton and Prof. Martin McCullagh. Heidi is recognized as an interdisciplinary scientist with awards for research excellence spanning physical, organic, and biological chemistry. Her research interests are in understanding and characterizing protein catalysis that is regulated through large-scale conformational changes, such as structural V-type allostery, using both molecular dynamics and quantum mechanical modeling techniques. Commitment to leadership in the field is evident by her involvement with volunteer high school teaching, social media coordination for the ACS COMP division, and designing programs to advance undergraduate research at her institution; culminating in her recent recognition as an ACS Scholars Leader in Mentoring. She is currently searching for a post doctoral position that will start in the Fall of 2023.
