The study and application of Machine Learning technology in the chemical sciences and engineering has greatly increased in the recent past. Over the past three years, the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation has sponsored an awards program to support innovative research projects aimed at advancing this field. This Presidential Symposium will feature the work and insights from some of the distinguished awardees of this program, covering a range of applications and approaches to Machine Learning in the chemical sciences and engineering. The symposium will help academic and industrial researchers understand this recent progress, and serve as a guide for where this field might be headed in the future.
