Gaurav Chopra is a tenured Associate Professor in Department of Chemistry and Department of Computer Science (by Courtesy) at Purdue University. He is the Director of Merck-Purdue Center that funds projects by Merck across Purdue University. Chopra directs a hybrid experimental/computational group in Molecular Artificial Intelligence and Cellular Immunology . Chopra laboratory work spans Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Neuroimmunology, Design and Synthesis of Targeted Immunomodulatory Drugs, Single-cell Lipidomics, Animal models and methods to understand Glial and Immune Cell function with Lipid Accumulation to combat Alzheimer's Disease and Cancer for Immunotherapy. Chopra is the winner of NIH ASPIRE Grand Prize for AI/ML and Automation Platform for Drug Discovery. Chopra's long-term goal is to harness the immune system for therapy for neurological diseases by targeting immune and glial cells.
