Dr. Frank Chang

Frank Chang is a Senior Research Science Consultant at the Aramco Services Company.  His main job focus is to link the stimulation and productivity enhancement R&D to the operations so that the new technologies can be effectively deployed in the Saudi oil and gas fields.  Frank started his career with Stimlab after receiving a PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.  He joined Schlumberger in 1996.  At Schlumberger he developed many new products and technologies in sand control, fracturing, acidizing, and perforating.  He started working at the Saudi Aramco in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia from 2012 and is relocated to Houston in September 2019.  He is an inventor of 30 patents, an author of more than 50 technical papers and the Carbon Acidizing chapter in the SPE Acidizing Monograph published in 2016.  Frank is current serving as the Executive Editor of the SPE Production & Operations Journal.  He is a 2019 SPE distinguished membership award recipient.
