Dr. Fahad Asiri is an Assistant Research Scientist at the Environment & Life Sciences Research Center in the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). He received his Ph.D. and MSc degrees in Environmental Engineering from Texas A&M University and his BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Iowa State University. Prior to pursuing his doctoral studies, Dr. Asiri worked as a Research Associate at KISR, where he led a project investigating the leaching properties of scrap tires under different marine conditions. He also contributed to various multidisciplinary projects, including the development of bioplastics from activated sludge and the investigation of morphological characteristics and biodegradation of post-weathering virgin/waste polyolefin blends. Currently, Dr. Asiri's research interests focus on the bioconversion of agro-industrial wastes/wastewaters to valuable bioproducts, such as biodegradable bioplastics and aquaculture feed supplements, as well as the development of sustainable and cost-effective treatment technologies.
