Prof Fadi Bou-Abdallah

Professor of Chemistry, State University of New York at Postdam (SUNY Potsdam)

Fadi Bou-Abdallah is a professor of chemistry at SUNY Potsdam, a small undergraduate institution in upstate New York. His research interests are in the general area of iron-protein biochemistry and part of a major international effort to understand the role of iron in health and disease. One of his major focus is to elucidate structure-function relationships of different iron-binding, iron-transport, and iron-storage proteins and better understand their roles in the regulation of cellular iron homeostasis.

Bou-Abdallah's research has been supported by NSF, NIH and other foundations such as the Research Corporation for the Advancement of Science, and the Dreyfus Foundation. He has secured over $1,5M in funding and has published 55 peer-reviewed papers.
