Elizabeth R. Nesbitt, a Senior International Trade Analyst at the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC), follows trade and competitiveness issues related to pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. She has been a project leader and/or major author on USITC reports addressing topics ranging from industrial biotechnology to SMEs to prescription drug pricing, as well as publishing articles on bioproducts, the circular economy, and pharmaceuticals. A strong supporter of STEM, she has presented internationally and is active, including at the Board level, in many organizations, particularly those promoting STEM education. She earned a B.S. in chemistry and an M.S. in chemical engineering from Manhattan College. Her recent working paper addresses the sustainable conversion of waste carbon in industrial emissions into chemicals and biofuels, focusing on the chemical and steel industries.
