Diane Nelson, Ph.D. joined the Cell Systems Science Group co-advised by Bryant Nelson and Lili Wang (Biomarker and Genomic Sciences Group). Her prior work at Carnegie Mellon University focused on formulating drug-in-perfluorocarbon emulsions for enhanced drug delivery during liquid breathing. At NIST, Diane is exploring the role of extracellular vesicles in lung dysfunction with the goal of utilizing secreted extracellular vesicles to develop a more sensitive in vitro toxicity assay to inhaled toxicants.
