Dhiman Ray

PhD Candidate, University of Oregon

Dhiman Ray is a PhD candidate with Prof. Ioan Andrcioaei at University of California Irvine. His research interests include molecular dynamics simulation of bio-molecules with an emphasis on the development of novel enhanced sampling methods for calculating kinetics of biophysical rare events. Dhiman is experienced in path sampling based techniques such as Weighted Ensemble, Milestoning and Markov State Modeling (MSM). He, along with Prof. Andricioaei, has developed the combined Weighted Ensemble Milestoning (WEM) methodology for calculation of free energy and kinetics of ligand-receptor interaction and protein conformational transition. He is the recipient of the NSF MolSSI Software Seed Fellowship (2020) and the Student Research Achievement Award (SRAA) by Biophysical Society (2020). Before joining UC Irvine, Dhiman completed his integrated Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, India.
