Biography: Dr. Denise F. S. Petri is a full professor at the Institute of Chemistry at the University of São Paulo since 2014. She received her BSc. In Chemistry from the University of São Paulo and her Ph.D. from the State University Campinas (Brazil). She was Post-doc at Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz (Germany) and at the Polymer Institute, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, from 1993 to 1998. Her primary research interests are in the field of interfacial phenomena between polysaccharides and biomolecules, the creation of adsorbents with different functionalities, and the effects of magnetic field on interfacial events. Since 2020 she is Associate Editor of the Cellulose journal. She organized seven Summer Schools on Colloids and Surfaces for undergrad and graduate students in Brazil. In her free time, she practices functional training and reads books.
