Dr. Deepa D Acharya

Dr. Deepa Acharya finished her undergraduate education in India, and then received her PhD from University of Wisconsin, Madison in Pharmaceutical Sciences, specializing in natural products discovery from bacteria. Following this, she was a postdoctoral associate with Prof. Jo Handelsman at UW-Madison working with the Tiny Earth program and collaborating closely with the Dorrestein lab in University of California, San Diego. After a year of postdoc, she joined Corteva Agrisciences as a Bioanalytical Scientist, focusing on natural products and microbial metabolism, using mass spectrometry and computational metabolomics as the primary tools.
