David graduated from York University with a Bsc. Hons. in pharmaceutical and biochemistry in 2007, completing his honors thesis under the supervision of Professor Michael Organ in the area palladium catalyzed cross-couplings using the Pd-PEPPSI-IPr catalyst system. David went on to carry out a PhD at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Prof. Mark Lautens where David's research spanned palladium-catalyzed domino reactions  and stereoselective reactions of arynes. Upon completion of his doctoral thesis in 2012 David went on to take up a postdoctoral position at the Leibniz Universität of Hannover Germany in the group of Prof. Andreas Kirschning group where David made contributions in projects involving nano-particle drug conjugates and antibiotic total synthesis. David went on to join the Merck discovery chemistry team in 2014 as a senior scientist where he has made contributions in CNS drug discovery and immunooncology projects.
