Field-enhanced catalytic technologies can provide transformative routes to convert “stubborn” molecules like H2O, CO2, N2, and CH4 into valuable chemicals and enable decarbonization of chemical production through electrification. Advancing these technologies requires an understanding of the field effects on the catalytic reaction and design of catalytic materials to facilitate efficient conversion. This symposium will consist of studies addressing the challenges of performing catalysis under field-enhanced reaction environments like microwaves, plasma, plasmonics, induction, etc. to produce sustainable industrial chemicals like H2, NH3, CH3OH, etc.
