Dr. Dácil Hernández completed her Ph.D. degree in 2007 under the supervision of Prof. Rosendo Hernández and Dr. Alicia Boto at IPNA-CSIC (IPNA-Spanish Research Council). During this period she worked on the transformation of carbohydrates and amino acids into bioactive products.
In 2009, she moved to Aarhus University, Denmark, for a postdoctoral stay with Professor Troels Skrydstrup to work in the preparation of sila-amino acids and sila-peptides. Later she returned to IPNA-CSIC with a postdoctoral contract, where she is currently working, mainly on the development of new sequential processes for the conversion of readily available substrates (amino acids and peptides) into valuable bioactive compounds.
