Prof. Cristián Huepe is a theoretical physicist conducting research in physical, biological, technological, social, and artistic Complex System. His current work focuses on active matter, evolutionary networks, swarm robotics, digital anthropology, and the art/science boundary. His research aims to unveil the fundamental mechanisms that lead to emergence and self-organization in a variety of contexts, with tools ranging from analytical calculations and simulations to experimental collaborations and data analysis. Huepe is the founder of CHuepe Labs Inc. in Chicago, director of the social listening lab SoL-UC in Chile, research professor at Northwestern University, and external researcher at the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems, Beijing Normal University, and the Universidad Católica de Chile. His recent studies on the systemic causes of post-truth and analyses of social networks have received widespread attention from private and public organizations, academia, and the press.
