Costanza Montis is an Assistant Professor in Physical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at University of Florence (and a member of the Italian Consortium for Colloid and Surface Science (CSGI). From April 2020 she co-leads the activities of the Bio-Soft Matter research group at the University of Florence. Her main research interests are in the physical chemistry of soft matter, specifically related to the understanding of the colloidal side of biological systems and to the fundamental understanding of nano-bio interfaces; her research activity in the physical chemistry of soft matter spans from the design of hybrid materials, combining biomolecules with synthetic inorganic and organic building blocks for biomedical applications, to nanostructured materials for applications in the restoration of works of art, to microfluidic tools applied to the synthesis and study of micron-sized surfactant and polymer-based soft-matter materials for applications in materials science.
