Prof. Charles-Francois de Lannoy
Assistant Professor, Chemical Engineering, McMaster University
Charles-Francois de Lannoy is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, Canada. His research is transforming the paradigm of water/wastewater treatment and environmental remediation using nano-enabled membranes, sorbents, and electrochemical technologies. He and his active group of researchers (currently: 2 PDF, 6 PhD, 2 MSc, and 7 UG students) are leaders in polymer/nanomaterial and electrochemical technologies for environmental applications including creating new porous materials and sorbents for contaminant adsorption, enhancing membrane separation through nanoparticle-polymer chemistry, developing surface anti-fouling strategies on membranes and sensors, inventing new electrochemical processes for contaminant degradation, and intensifying industrial processes coupling separations with reactions and catalysis. He collaborates with various industry partners and First Nations.
