Dr. Chad R Johnson Ph.D.

Dr. Johnson is an Instructor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics (MCST) Program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Dr. Johnson received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (focus: Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Pharmacy under the direction of Dr. Andrew Coop (Thesis: Novel Cholinergics for Treatment of Central Nervous System Disorders). His NIH/NIDA research focuses on two primary areas: developing novel, fast-acting antidepressants targeting the muscarinic receptors (mAChRs) and novel opioid analgesics with reduced reinforcement.
